Geode Collecting at Jacob's Geode Mine

Описание: What’s up everyone! This was a really fun adventure! Keeping in fashion with the channel, we’re doing some geode collecting, but this time it’s in my home state of Illinois! Way out west near the borders off Illinois, Iowa and Missouri at an awesome place called Jacob’s Geode Mine! We’re hunting the beautiful Keokuk geodes! ( this term is used to specify geodes from the region, not just geodes from that town) Given this was my first visit, this vlog was all about learning the terrain and what to looks for and bring with for an efficient day of geode mining and collecting!

Jacob’s Geode Mine is located at 823 E Co Rd 1220, Hamilton, Illinois 62341. There is a fee of $25.00 per bucket of geodes collected, and there are tools available to rent, but there are limited supplies!!

GIVEN THAT THIS IS A PAY PER BUCKET SITE, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO OPEN GEODES ON SITE.

-WATER
-Snacks
-Rock Hammer (Pick or Chisel ended)
-Sledge (2-3 pounds)
-Chisel (Guarded is best)
-Buckets
-Something to sit on (milk crate/bucket)
-Pickaxe (single steel forged is best)
-Geode collecting friends!
