EXPLORING HANGING ROCK | Rare volcanic formation in Victoria

Описание: Hanging Rock Reserve is roughly an hour from Melbourne and is a great day trip from the city. The reserve has a $10 per car entry fee but is well worth it.

Once through the boom gates there are large grass areas for picnics as well as BBQ's, tables, shelters and bathroom facilities. The grounds are kept in a beautiful condition and it's a great place to come and relax with some friends or family.

There is a cafe and discovery centre with all the information you need before heading off on a walk to explore.

We did the Hanging Rock Summit Walk which was way better than I expected. There is so much to see and explore with little tracks going off in every direction leading to caves and lookouts. There is also the base walk and the creek walk.

Inside the reserve is also a dam that is regularly stocked for fishing as well as the racecourse and cricket pitch.
