Fish Curry for babies
Pomfret Fish
Fish is an excellent source of protein also rich in omega-3 fatty acid.
It also contains essential fatty acids, such as DHA and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid and Docosahexaenoic acid), which are not found in any other source of protein and it has good fat.
Essential fatty acids are necessary for the proper development of the brain and eyes.
This makes fish a healthy and nutritious food for your baby and it is recommended for babies can eat fish at least twice a week.
Pomfret fish contains excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin B3, B12, Niacin and vitamin E. It has low mercury level.
Fish can be introduced in baby’s diet as early as 8 months.
Make sure the fish is de-boned, cooked well.
Always check for food allergy after you introduce any new food to baby. Consult your doctor before you introduce fish to your little one.
Common symptoms of allergies include: swollen lips and face, skin rash, vomiting, diarrhoea, wheezing and stomach cramps.
Ingredient Required
Fish (Pomfret) – 1/4 cup (Small piece, de-bone)
Tomato – 1 tbsp (¼ piece, finely chopped)
Small Onion – 1 tbsp (2 no, finely chopped)
(Shallots)
Garlic – 1 no (finely chopped)
Coriander leaf – 4 no (chopped)
Curry leaves – 3 no (chopped)
Jeera powder – ¼ spn
Turmeric powder – ¼ spn
Pepper powder – ¼ spn
Asafoetida – ¼ spn
Sesame oil – 1 tbsp
Water – 1 cup
Mix the prepared fish curry with hot rice and blend it smooth paste using mixie/blender for 8+ month baby.
For 10+ month baby just smash it and feed him.
