Описание: Watch me as I draw a giraffe with coloured pencils. This is a narrated timelapse video of a giraffe drawing, using both Polychromos and Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils. In this video I will describe some of the techniques that I use to create depth of colour and different textures within the image.

The supplies I used for this video were:
Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils
Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils
Clairefontaine Paint ON Multi-techniques Naturel paper (A4 size)
Cotton bud for blending

The giraffe in my photograph is called Nakuru, I photographed her at the Melbourne Zoo in Victoria, Australia five years ago. She was born on 16th January 2012 at the Auckland Zoo, New Zealand. At 15 months of age she boarded a cargo ship to Australia, a simple journey which became complicated when the ship was diverted to help search for a missing yacht. After a short delay she arrived safely in Melbourne and spent 30 days quarantine at their sister zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo before moving into her current home at Melbourne Zoo where I photographed her 2 years later. Nakuru is now eight years old, she is a subspecies of Northern Giraffe known as the Nubian giraffe. Recent genetic research has revealed four distinct giraffe species. Nakuru was formerly identified as a Rothschild's Giraffe, but the research determined that Rothschild's and Nubian Giraffe to be genetically identical and so were lumped together.
