A short ride on Transdev Doncaster bus #298, a 1990 MAN SL200 Ansair Mk II along the Eastern Freeway on a route 305 to the City.
This is one of Victoria's oldest buses. Theses buses were originally ordered between 1988-1990 by the Victorian Government for use on the original MetBus network. They were the first route service buses to feature air conditioning, as well as Flip-dot destination displays.
The MAN SL200 Ansair Mk IIs have served Melbourne under MetBus, National Bus/Ventura, Melbourne Bus Link and now Transdev. They are entering the end of their service life in Melbourne, and it is rare to see them on the Eastern Freeway routes.
This particular one is interesting because it has a Mercedes Benz O305 box in place of the original MAN one.
