Supporters of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI chief on Tuesday put on fire the building of Radio Pakistan in Peshawar after latter's arrest from outside Islamabad High Court by Pakistan Rangers. Supporters have took to streets in various cities of the neighbouring country demanding Khan's release.

The protests are underway in cities, including Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Gilgit, Karak, according to the official Twitter handle of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI). While some of the PTI supporters, demanding Khan’s release, entered the General Headquarters (of the Pakistan Army) in Rawalpindi, others, according to Pakistan media reports, entered the residence of Lahore Corps Commander and vandalised his house, hours after Khan’s arrest.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Aamer Farooq Tuesday took strong exception over the arrest taking place at the IHC premises, following Khan’s arrest, earlier in the day, from outside the court, Dawn reported. The additional attorney general retorted whether the parking lot and other areas of the IHC should be considered the same as the courtroom, the Dawn report said. According to Fawad Chaudhry, the official spokesperson of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the ex-PM had been “abducted from Court premises. Scores of lawyers and general people have been tortured.”
