India - Troops patrol India/Pakistan borders

There have been reports of increased troop movements on both sides of the border separating India and Pakistan after the two countries recently conducted underground nuclear tests. In the disputed province of Kashmir, 450,000 troops are deployed on the Indian side and 250,000 soldiers on the Pakistani side of the frontier. Military analysts say both sides have recently moved squadrons of aircraft and hundreds of troops closer to the 362 km (225 mile) "Line of Control" in Kashmir, ostensibly for exercises.
