GEN_AI Documentary — Fine Cut

Описание: My final fine cut for my 2nd year documentary assignment about generative AI and its impact on artists/my generation as a whole as we are entering the workforce & its potential consequences 🗣️🗣️

I'm not 100% happy with it as a final product, this doc was initially a true passion project for school that I was eager to work on, but slowly became something I just wanted to get it over with. However, I'm still glad I got it done at least, and I hope to come back to it someday, as generative AI is constantly evolving and I'm sure this won't be the last time I make something about it.

I don't want this to come off as fearmongering or for people to detest generative AI, it's about knowing its place (NOT in the arts) and being aware of its existence. The pros of gen ai is as significant as its consequences, but as the technology evolves and grows, it seems to be proving as more of a danger than a benefit to society. What used to be a tool that could better humanity is now being used with malicious intent and for spreading hate, revenge porn/CSAM, misinformation, or even replacing critical thinking for some. Job fields are also being affected, and not just the arts.

EVERY single industry has the potential to be affected by generative AI, and people are being laid off to "cut costs," with AI taking their places. What about entry-level jobs? If AI can do them so easily, what reason do people at the top have for hiring human labour? So then what will happen to our future workforce, with this mentality and motivation?

If AI is meant to improve our lives, then why are the majority of humans suffering from it, and only the top 0.1% and the people at the top of the chain seem to be reaping its benefits and monetary gain?

There was so much stuff to talk about when it comes to generative AI that 8 minutes cannot even cover a fraction of information about this 🥀
