To season a Kalchatti for the first time, you can:
Mix castor oil and turmeric and apply it all around the Kalchatti, inside and outside.
Leave it aside for 4 or 5 days.
Wash the vessel on day 5 and fill it with rice washed water.
Repeat this process for 4 days.
To clean a Kalchatti after cooking, you can use mild soap or dish wash liquid.
