Here is a brief comparison test of the two kinds of switches that I own. So the result might varies among different individuals. Since there are too much variables that can affect sounds (ie, different batches, amount of lube applied etc...).
To me, I find the sound of my Vintage Blacks are deeper and a bit fuller in sound. Smoothnesswise, the good vintage black are slightly smoother than the hyperglides but cannot be notice while you are typing. (although I have take out all the unsmooth Vintage out).The hyperglide seems to be more consistent to work with since my Vintage here are not NOS (but I have tired my best in the assorting them).
My batch of hyperglides are not scratchy and they are very consistent. For the Vintages, it takes a bit of time to sort out the good ones which I think the time might not worth it if you are not having just a one or two boards to play with. MX Blacks are still my all time number one favorite.
In short, I am happy with both version of Blacks. I still like the Vints better.
