She cited examples including AI-driven disease alerts in multiple languages, genome surveillance under the One Health Mission, and AI-enabled handheld X-ray devices supporting TB elimination efforts.

Patel also underscored the need for scalable, cost-effective AI tools suited to India’s healthcare challenges and called for ethical, responsible deployment backed by strong regulatory frameworks.
