Parenting can be tough in today’s times.

Because, today’s children are smarter than their parents.

Parents are having a hard time dealing with them now than before.

Before, strict and controlling parenting style was a norm. Imposing choices & reprimanding children if they refuse or rebel was a story of every home.

Today, this parenting style can backfire.

Children of today are outspoken. They are more expressive when it comes to sharing their choices and interests. If you’re strict, controlling, or impose your choices on them, they will instantly refuse. Rebel. And do what they like.

For the sake of their happiness, you’ve to give them freedom to decide for themselves.

Otherwise, we’ll have a generation which is unhappy, unsatisfied & resentful towards everything. Such kids can even turn away from Islam, believing your parenting style is the one endorsed by Islam.

Islam gives free will to children as well. They can make their decisions and choices which align with their halal passions & interests.

Politely talk with your children.

Ask their suggestions, ideas & opinions.

Educate & guide them if they are taking a wrong track.

Let your children take their decisions so they better their judgment & decision-making skills.

Make them feel at home and not in prison.
