Joyko Artist Drawing Compass with Sharpener in Case Review

Описание: I try to always have a compass in my art supply set. I sometimes lose one, so I have to get a new one. That was the situation with this Joyko Artist Drawing Compass. The compass came with a pencil, pencil sharpener, and plastic case.

This is an inexpensive, fairly bare-bones compass. You screw a small pencil, the size of a golf pencil, into the opening on one end. The sharpened point on the other end holds the compass steady against the paper or canvas. You adjust the width of the circle simply by pulling the arms apart or pressing them in. There is no 'thumb wheel' to carefully dial in the exact size you want. There isn't any sort of measuring device to know how large or small your circle is going to be. You'd need a separate ruler to be able to measure the distance between the pointy center and the pencil point.

Still, this does its job quite ably. The natural tension on the joint of the two arms holds the distance while you make your circle. The pencil sharpener does its job. Everything fits nicely into its case when you're done.

Well recommended for a basic compass for drawing circles.
