Описание: January is not the ideal time for a Cataract Canyon packrafting trip. Despite friends' ample warning of that fact, my eagerness to escape the long Interior Alaska winter won out. Predictably freezing mornings and short winter days turned what should have been a pleasant loop into more of an "adventure" than we bargained for. But imperfect timing has its own rewards — and this trip proved, once again, that it's pretty much always worth going.
