At the start of Thursday's hearing over her sexual assault allegation against Brett Kavanaugh, Christine Blasey Ford told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she was "here today not because I want to be. I am terrified. I am here because I believe it is my civic duty."
Ford recounted how an inebriated Kavanaugh groped her and put his hands over her mouth when she tried to yell for help at a party when the two were in high school.
"I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t remember as much as I would like to," Ford told the Senate panel, her voice shaking. "But the details about that night that bring me here today are ones I will never forget."
