Algebra "Work" Word Problems

"One person can complete a job in 30 minutes. Another person can complete the same job in 40 minutes. How long would it take them working together?"

Problem 2 at 4:00
"One person can complete a job in 30 minutes. If the same job is done by both persons working together, the job can be completed in 17 1/7 minutes. How long would it take the other person to do the job alone?"

Both problems use rational equations such as 1/a + 1/b = 1/x.

• This video consists of two algebra work word problems with simple animations to accompany them. It's a very thorough video with step-by-step explanations and explained answers. I put great effort into producing this and other videos. Hope you find them useful. Thank you for your support.
