THIS IS HOW WE CAN SAVE THE FORESTS OF HONDURAS 🌲🇭🇳 SIGUATEPEQUE IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME 😰

Описание: The mountains of Siguatepeque, Honduras, are losing their trees. In the city known as "the city of pines," you can enjoy nature, trails, and fresh air. They have an abundance of water for all its inhabitants. It's one of the most beautiful cities in Honduras. But it’s all disappearing fast. What used to be forests are now practically deserts. There is no more water where there used to be. Many farmers still use an agricultural technique that is deadly for the forests: they slash and burn where they want to farm. According to experts, 70% of the pine trees in the city have already been burnt, cut down, or killed by the weevil plague. If we don't act fast, “the city of pines” will have... no more pines.

In this video, I spend a day with the staff from Sustainable Harvest International, a nonprofit organization that is fighting back. They've planted 4 million trees and are teaching farmers how to protect the environment and how to increase their monthly profits using sustainable harvesting techniques. The organization, hit hard by the pandemic, needs our support.
