Описание: Gerry Cooley former pupil leaves his beloved Belcamp after it was vandalised and burnt by local youth in April 2011. The Celtic Tiger was giving us another casuality and the blocks were now being laid in the windows and doorways as a last attempt is made to save the Historic center building (1750) from total destruction. The windows he refers to are Harry Clarke Chapel windows, which were saved despite attempts to smash destroy with concrete blocks only a few nights earlier. The modern school to the right close to the end was subsequently levelled to the ground later in 2011 due to heavy vandalism which necessitated its destruction for safety purposes. Not one person has been prosecuted for all that happened there. Destroyed with impunity, Gerry had called for the Army to be deployed to guard the beautiful old School when it became obvious that destruction was pending. All to no avail. Shame on all involved.
