Alphatron - Tynesoft - Acorn Electron - Emulated, Pantheon - 2,700 points.

Описание: Alphatron is an arcade game for the Acorn Electron. It was released by Tynesoft and written by Jason Sobell and Kevin Blake.

The game is quite simple. Rockets are aimed at your refineries which are several screens to the right of your refuelling pad. You need to take-off, chase them down and shoot them before they reach the refinery. You have a very limited amount of fuel and must return to base to top up constantly.

I didn't find this a very enjoyable game although I did eventually get into a rhythm of play. Landing has to be very accurate, or your ship is destroyed and you do not have much time to position yourself before another rocket gets by and can't be caught in time. This game could have been more enjoyable if the landing was not so difficult. This puts the emphasis of the game on your landing skill, when I think it should have been on the rocket chasing and destruction aspect.

This run was made on the 7th April 2024 using the Pantheon emulator on PC. The game has no user adjustable skill levels. The score reached was 2,700 points.
