We absolutely love destination weddings, and when Lizzy and Stephen told us they had chosen Glen Albyn Estate in Hobart, Tasmania, for their big day, it was an easy and enthusiastic yes from us!

The Journey Begins
Packing our bags in Sydney, we made the journey to Hobart, excited for what was to come. The wedding day greeted us with overcast skies and a brisk wind, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of our adventurous couple in the slightest.

A Pop of Colour
One of the standout elements of this wedding was the vibrant florals. The couple chose an array of colorful flowers that truly made the day pop, adding a warm and joyful energy to every frame.

The Ceremony: Love on the Water
Glen Albyn Estate is nothing short of breathtaking, perched above the River Derwent with stunning views from every angle. Lizzy and Stephen exchanged vows on a picturesque boardwalk over the water, creating an intimate and magical atmosphere that was simply unforgettable. We love 100fps confetti for an exit!

A Reception to Remember
The celebration continued with an emotional and laughter-filled reception. Tears of joy, heartfelt speeches, and a dance floor that radiated energy made for an incredible night of festivities.

An Epic Post-Wedding Adventure
But the magic didn’t stop there! A few days later, we embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with the newlyweds. Driving 350km to Cradle Mountain, we geared up for an epic climb to Marion’s Lookout—7km up to a breathtaking 1,200m peak. The weather was absolutely perfect, with crystal-clear skies (minus the orange glow of a bushfire) and not a soul in sight. Capturing the wedding portraits at the top was nothing short of surreal.

After the exhilarating ascent, we decided to take the harder 7km route back down (probably not our best decision, but worth it for the views!). Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, we arrived at Dove Lake just in time for a stunning sunset session. The golden hues reflecting off the water provided the perfect finishing touch to an already unforgettable wedding experience.

A Wedding to Remember
Lizzy and Stephen’s wedding was a true adventure from start to finish, blending breathtaking landscapes, heartfelt moments, and boundless love. From Glen Albyn Estate to the peaks of Cradle Mountain, this wedding was a dream come true.

As this was a destination wedding we needed to pack lighter. We travelled with two Pelican 1510 Cases for the camera gear and two suitcases that contained a couple tripods etc.

STYLE
This wedding was shot using both handheld rig and the gimbal. We also like to emulate film when shooting, to achieve this we shoot a flat S-LOG3 profile on a Sony A7siii to preserve highlights and shadows. All colour grading is done by us in FCPX and use Dehancer Pro for grain, additional blooming, halation on a Kodak Endura Glossy Paper print emulation. Along with using Phantom Luts.
