The opening course from a peal of Grandsire Cinques at the Minster Church of St Mary, Cheltenham, the oldest building in Cheltenham. The bells are a mixed bag of Rudhall and Mears which produce an old-fashioned, pre-Simpson ring. The locals are currently fundraising to replace these bells with a new 12 plus sharp second; personally I think this a shame as I quite like the bells, and, while they are becoming hard work and feel unloved upstairs, they are relatively easy to produce some good ringing off, as the mixed 12 bell band with varying experience here did. The bells have had some early long lengths performed on them; 13,054 Stedman Caters in 8hr16 on 21 May 1888, and 15,224 Grandsire Caters in 9hr43 on 22 April 1889
