The Mayor of Seattle has issued an order to dismantle the city's 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone', which was set up by anti-racist protesters.
Police have begun moving into the area, which includes the police precinct, in order to dismantle the camp.
Anti-police demonstrators had previously expelled authorities from the area and set up barricades, which officers brought in heavy machinery to shift.
Mayor Jenny Durkan made the call to end the extended protest after a number of shootings occurred in the area over the past 10 days which left two black teenagers dead.
