This is my attempt at making chicos tacos at home! Since I am across the country now I find myself craving it more often than not! If you’re in the same boat as me or simply would like to try to make this at home keep watching🖤
Chicos Tacos is a well known restaurant located in El Paso, Texas. It’s known for its tacos submerged in a tomato sauce covered in yellow cheese.
Of course my recipe does not compare to the original amazing government cheese doubles but they are right up there!

Ingredients for tomato sauce:
• 5 Roma tomatoes
• 1 Can of stewed tomatoes
• 3-4 cloves of garlic
• 1/2 small onion or 1/4 large onion
• 8 cups of water or chicken broth
• salt & chicken bouillon to taste
Ingredients for green salsa:
• 5 jalapeños
• 3 tomatillos
• 1 serrano pepper
• 1/4 onion
• 2-3 cloves of garlic
• salt & chicken bouillon to taste
Other ingredients:
• beef flautas
• crinkle cut French fries (optional)
