Taken at end October 2015, the timelapse sequences capture static discharges (lightning) resulting from buildup of static electricity charges due to interaction of fine ash particles in the rising ash clouds erupting from Mexico's Colima volcano. Colima volcano is a majestic, yet potentially deadly volcano prone to cycles of construction and catastrophic collapse. Activity in recent years has been largely a mixture of explosive and / or dome-building eruptions.
