What to see in Gabala or Things to do in Gabala Azerbaijan starts with Nohur Göl or Nohur Lake, a 24 meter depth man-made lake surrounded by Yumru, Goydag and Gulluburun mountains. Paddle boating in Nohur Lake is a must try things to do in Qabala. Yeddi Gozel waterfall or Seven beauties waterfalls or Gözel 7 in Vendam settlement of Gabala near Ruskan village is the second spot for visiting Gabala Azerbaijan. Qabala is a tourist destination due to the combination of its spring climate, mountainous landscape, and diverse fauna. The northern side of Qabala belongs to the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, the central part to Alazan-Haftaran valley, the southern part to Ajinohur upland.
➜⇢➤Nohur Lake or Nohur göl is Gabala's top attraction that have magnificent view to Caucasus Mountains and surrounding villages with fresh air and water where you can peddle a catamaran boat ride to enjoy the surrounding landscape. Yeddi Gozel Waterfall, the name means 'seven beauties' due to the seven stages of the falls but also reflecting a classic Nizami Ganjavi story. The waterfall, situated in woodlands west of Vandam, is climbed by thousands of people each year - the lower levels being accessible by stairways. “Seven Beauties” waterfalls flow from the highest peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. Below the mountain, small two waterfalls are only visible. If you’re hiking enthusiast, climb the wooden stairs to see the other five waterfalls which are dark and cold in a thick forest without any sunshine.
➜⇢➤ Last destination was in Savalan Winery. The name came from Savalan valley. Qabala’s climatic conditions suited ideally for designing a sustainable wine yard. At 400 m above the sea level and at the foothills of Caucasus Mountains with two neighboring rivers, Savalan valley is the perfect location to keep the grapes most healthy. European grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Syrah were successfully planted in 2007. Since then there are 17 varieties of Savalan named wines on the local market as on date. Inside Savalan Winery visit would let us to explore their production and varieties of wines. Finally, wine tasting in Savalan Winery was a breathtaking experience, Red, white, Rose wines, dry wines, semi dry wines all with different tastes gave altogether an awesome experience.
