A preferred return (sometimes called a “pref”) is one of many different aspects of a real estate syndication (group investment), and one that directly affects the money in your pocket, via the cash flow distributions from the deal.
In this video, we’ll talk about exactly what a preferred return is and what it tells you about the strength of a real estate syndication deal. We’ll also compare two real world deals, one with a 7% preferred return, and one with an 8% preferred return, and see how the pref plays into the overall strength of the deal.
