Airlie Beach Port Guide

Описание: In this video, we take you on a tour of Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands on the Great Barrier Reef. If you're a cruise ship passenger, you'll arrive in Shute Harbor and can easily walk to town along well-managed paths with ample signage. As you walk towards the town center, enjoy the shops, cafes, and restaurants along the esplanade.

On Saturdays and Wednesdays, there are community markets with food, beverages, and lots of tented shops featuring art, hair accessories, jewelry, clothing, and the local newspaper that was resurrected by residents. Boathouse beach with a stinger net surround is on one side of the market grounds, and the Airlie Lagoon, a manmade beach, is on the other.

From October to May, the warm waters are home to various jellyfish, including Box jellyfish, Irukandji, and bluebottles, which are venomous and potentially deadly. Even in protected waters, a stinger suit is a good idea.
