In this video, we uncover the forgotten story of Moran House in Chandannagar’s Gondolpara — a stunning two-storey riverside garden house where Rabindranath Tagore spent an important phase of his early life.

Based on Sunil Gangopadhyay’s Prothom Alo, Tagore family references, and historical records, this video traces the journey from Jorasanko to Mussoorie to Chandannagar, exploring how the riverside garden, the bakul trees, and the peaceful surroundings inspired Tagore’s early writings.

Many historians believe that “Bou Thakuranir Hat” was first written here.
Sadly, the house was demolished during the construction of the Gondolpara Jute Mill - leaving behind only memories.
