Scaletrains SD40T-2 Upgraded with Blunami!

Описание: I finally decided to tackle a ScaleTrains DCC conversion. I did not want to use their decoder brand as I use SoundTraxx Products and had put it off forever as I don’t want to mess it up. But I decided to do it and decided to convert a DCC Ready Scaletrains SD40T-2 to DCC. The decoder I used was a Blunami BLU-2200 with the EMD sounds. Once I removed the shell, I had to remove the factory DCC board. Thanks to the videos that SoundTraxx had made, I was confident in my abilities. Once the board was removed, I used a 9V LED tester to determine why wires went to what. I then soldered the correct wires to the correct wires from the decoder. 1000 ohm resisters were used for the LEDs. I also used Scale Sound Systems speakers in this install from a recommendation from George. I put the shell back on and was slightly nervous about applying power for the first time, but the engine fired up and works flawlessly! I used the Blunami App to change the CV’s to the correct settings and tested it on a test track. This will look great on the layout once it’s complete!
