The Laycock de Normanville A-Type overdrive does not appear to have been original to our car. As a result, the wiring harness has none of the provisions needed to wire the relay, limit switches, and solenoid.

Triumph did not fuse the overdrive solenoid on the TR4. However, later cars such as the Triumph TR6 did have a fuse. We added a 10 amp ATO automotive fuse into our circuit. This is an easy upgrade to help reduce the risk of failures and burnt wires in the overdrive circuit!
