Inspiration: • I'm 27 and Never Had A Girlfriend
This afternoon, I took a walk in my local park in Vietnam. 🌧️ It was a quiet, cloudy Sunday — not many people, not much light, just me and my thoughts. So I turned on my camera and decided to speak honestly about something I’ve never shared before: I’m 21 years old, and I’ve never had a girlfriend.
I started wondering — is it really because of love, or is it because of money? 💭
In this English vlog, I talk about how financial stability, self-worth, and social expectations affect love in modern Vietnam. Many boys, including me, feel that we have to “earn” the right to love — to be financially ready before dating someone’s daughter. I reflect on what it feels like to grow up in a lower-class family, to watch others date easily, and to wonder whether we’re “enough” without money or property.
Even though my father never forbids me from falling in love — he even encourages it — I still question myself:
Am I allowed to love? Yes.
Am I enough to love? I don’t know.
This video isn’t just about relationships — it’s about the pressure to become someone first before you can be loved. It’s about how Vietnamese boys like me think twice before dating because we don’t want to burden our parents or disappoint anyone.
I know many of you might not agree with my thoughts — and that’s okay. I’d love to read your opinions in the comments. Do you believe love requires money first? Or can two people grow together even when they’re broke? 💬
