Описание: Tom Hashimoto is a Director of MSc Financial Economics Programme and Senior Assistant Professor at ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius. He is a Fellow of UK Higher Education Academy as well as Career Integration Fellow (2016-19) at CERGE-EI (Prague). Tom specialises in post-socialist financial centre development. His foci are financial institutional reforms, collective political will and socio-legal philosophy behind the transition. His short commentaries on South-eastern Europe can be found in 'CE Financial Observer', published by the National Bank of Poland.

Tom is interested in political and economic transitions as a learning process for incoming elites, and he had difficulties in finding suitable disciplines for his research. Ultimately, he knocked the door of the Department of Geography at the University of Oxford, and he shall be completing his DPhil this year. Based on his experience, he aims to formulate how 'rational thinking' limits dynamic learning and to illustrate an epistemological difference between 'interdisciplinary' and 'multidisciplinary' learning during his TEDxISM talk.
