Know your dummy loads - How to pick the right dummy load for the job!

Описание: Dummy loads are probably some of the most confusing pieces of test equipment in your shack. They're silly looking, and therefore get a bad rap because people rely on their spit for grounding the antenna (but that's another video).

But in reality, dummy loads have very simple functions that make them extremely versatile tools to have in your toolbox. A dummy load is a device used to simulate RF resistance for testing purposes. They can be used for testing the output of your amplifier with an SWR meter, testing the output of your transmitter with a wattmeter (if you are running linears, etc). Any time you are keying a transmitter for test purposes, a dummy load is probably where you want the RF going.
