this past may, we camped for a few days in yosemite at wawona campground. one day, we hiked the four-mile trail to glacier point. it happened to be the first day Glacier Point was fully open—so there were no shuttles running to take us back down.
after conquering 4.8 miles of switchbacks and a 3,200-foot elevation gain, we had to race down the mountain before sunset.
along the way to our destination and up the mountain, we shot a cartridge of super 8 film, capturing sweeping views of yosemite valley, el capitan, yosemite falls, and, finally, half dome.
