Hey, it's me, your friendly neighborhood Deadpool! What? Yeah, of course I'm friendly--have I ever lied to you?
We've never spoken before? Well, how's about that? How do you do? My name is Wade Wils--I mean Deadpool. I work for this joint called Marvel Comics, though ol' Mickey's running the place now. Eh, it's not bad under his dictatorship. I mean, look at this! I got my own pinball table! It ain't a physical one like I asked, but hey, it's a start.
Since pinball tables are kind obtuse, and those pinheads seem to like it this way (What? They call themselves that!), I think I oughta explain to you how mine works. After all, you probably wouldn't like it much if you didn't know what was going on, wouldja? 'Cause this is from Zen Studios, they want you to complete the main modes, which they call missions. The playfield looks like it's only got six of them, but there's actually more. See, that's why the missions are called "Chapters," and not "Issues." There's a difference. Like with Sonichu! Whatever the case, see those side ramps? Shoot the ball into either of those to activate the spinners on the orbits. As they spin, the rainbow on either side of that dead-end ramp in the middle fills up. Once it fills up, the ramp activates, but the rainbow will deplete. If both theleft and right rainbows disappear completely, you have to shoot the spinners again. If you can shoot the ball up the center ramp when there's a rainbow there, a mission will begin. (Whose idea was it to put rainbows on my table? I ain't no gay pride emblem! Unless there's something someone's not telling me.)
Got that? Good. What? What do you mean you don't know what an orbit is? It's how the Earth travels around the Sun! What time period are you from?
Something else you should know: Once you hit those pop bumpers with my icon on them enough times, I'll give you one of my handy dandy grenades! Oh, don't worry if the ball hits it from beneath--it'll always send the ball away from the drain! Pretty neat, huh? Just don't you go using too many of them. They're expensive!
Zen loves spelling things. They should go try out for spelling bees or something. In any case, even I don't know what happens when you spell "Weasel" or "Wilson" or "Hellhouse." Hey, I didn't make this table. I'm just in it. I played and I played, and I still don't get it. But this schmuck's Wii U I played this on...they're ranked 9th! The Wii U leaderboard's the smallest of them all though. Don'tcha love sandbagging? Okay okay, by the time this got put up, that 40 million score's not even in the top 10 anymore.
So I've been playing some other pinball tables, and I noticed Zen likes to er, draw inspiration from real tables. See those criss-crossing ramps in the middle? Yeah, this guy named Mark Ritchie likes to use that design, like this...um...Fish Tales, was it called?
Also, ya see those lights on the plunger lane with my mug on them? That's your skill shot there, and I'd been playing this table a bunch called The Twilight Zone when it dawned on me that they took it from there! (I must confess--I only played these through Pinball Arcade. Hey, you think I could find any REAL tables where I live? Huh?)
Oh yeah, and you might notice those ball locks near the upper flippers. Well, I heard that Star Wars: Episode I's pinball machine keeps those balls there too.
And Blind Al's mode? Well, someone told me there's this table called Viper Night Drivin' that uses ultraviowhahootsie lights with glow-in-the-dark pinballs! How cool is that?
But wait, there's more! You know how you can shoot the ball behind those upper flippers? Well, that was taken from Stern's Spider-Man table!
And there's even more! Chapter #6, "You Can't Touch Me," plays out just like that "Find the Gopher" mode in Tee'd Off! Zen Studios--what ripoff artists they are!
