And when Tony redirects the missile into the Chitauri mothership, J.A.R.V.I.S. senses the danger. He knows Tony doesn’t have enough power to return, so he calculates and removes the shoulder buster from Tony's suit right after he releases the missile into the wormhole. This small boost from J.A.R.V.I.S. helped Tony make it back to Earth.
