Karl Bushby, a British ex-paratrooper and adventurer, is best known for his ambitious plan called "The Goliath Expedition" — a bid to walk an unbroken path around the world. His goal has been to walk from the southern tip of South America all the way back to his home in Hull, England, entirely on foot.
Crossing the English Channel – Bushby's Plan (British English)
As part of his journey, crossing the English Channel presented a unique challenge. Since Bushby's expedition aims to be entirely on foot, he couldn't simply take a ferry or swim — both would break the "unbroken footpath" principle of his mission.
His plan to cross the Channel:
Using the Channel Tunnel (Eurotunnel): Bushby planned to cross the English Channel via the service tunnel that runs alongside the Eurotunnel (the rail tunnel that connects Folkestone in the UK to Calais in France under the Channel).
