That includes going underneath the skin, removing or adjusting the deep neck structures, tying the platysma muscle back together, and performing a hyoid-platysmal release. The answer lies in how we handle the platysma muscle. Most surgeons tend to pull the platysma back and up diagonally, then suture it in place. While that approach can offer some improvement, it doesn't provide the vertical, sculpted lift that many patients want from a true neckline lift. To get that sharper, more contoured result, we use an advanced method known as the mastoid crevasse technique.
