Описание: This film covers the incredible journey of the first indentured labourers to leave India. Stepping on the island of Mauritius as girmitiyas or indentured labourers, their success paved the way for generations of Indians to migrate to the other lands across the world. Their sacrifices have also ensured the prosperity of the present generations of Mauritian Indians who take pride in their heritage and the influence its had on their multi-cultural island. Here Bollywood songs are sung alongside Creole music and Hindustani classical ragas are adapted with operatic melodies, African rhythms and Buddhist chants to create an entirely new musical language. This film also celebrates the diaspora Indian's connection with India that has been retained and lovingly nurtured for generations.
