Govt Bars LPG Cylinders for Consumers With PNG Connections

Описание: Keeping in view the global disruption in gas and oil shipping due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the government has issued a new rule regarding domestic LPG connections.

Under an amendment to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000, consumers who already have a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection will no longer be allowed to keep or refill a domestic LPG cylinder.

People who currently hold both PNG and LPG connections have been directed to surrender their LPG connection immediately.

The order also directs government oil companies not to issue new LPG connections or provide refills to consumers who already have a PNG connection. The move is aimed at preventing duplication of subsidised cooking fuel and streamlining domestic gas distribution across the country.
