Got a Warped Record? Or a Warped Sense of Humor? The AFI FLAT.DUO Claims It Can Flatten The Record

Описание: FLAT.DUO is lightweight—almost feels and looks like it's made of styrofoam (it's not)—and the manufacturer AFI (Audio Fidelity Improvement) claims it can simultaneously flatten two records without doing any damage. So, I put it to the test in this video and you'll see for yourself what it can do in a fairly short time.

AFI claims the FLAT.DUO can also flatten 78rpm Shellac records, which I found really interesting. I have many but I didn't look for a warped or dished one to flatten. If it works on vinyl, that's good enough for me! If I have time I'll look for a shellac record to flatten.

In addition to flattening warped records, the FLAT.DUO has a "relax" mode that heats the record to a lower temperature over a longer period of time. The cycle is claimed to "temper" the vinyl, which "relaxes" it and makes the music sound smoother and kind of flow better as well as producing structural improvements to the vinyl's molecular makeup. I tried that mode as well and recorded the same track twice. Once out of the jacket and once out of the Flatter Duo in "Relax" mode.
