Port Douglas’s hidden gem! Spring creek falls

Описание: Just the drive from Cairns to the start point on spring creek, a tributary of the Mowbray river, is worth the day trip. The great coastal road over looking the coral sea with the great dividing range bursting out of the ocean just spectacular in its own right.

We hiked up through chabbuki (Tjapukai) country on this adventure through the lands of the Yirrganydji (Irrukandji) mob to the great Spring creek falls or commonly known as Black rock falls. Being only a 10 minute drive from the town ship of Port Douglas i'm claiming that this is Ports little hidden gem. What a hike this is. Recent rains had made the creek a little dirty but on the plus side there was more water to see cascading over the escarpment at the top. Absolutely breathtaking turning the last corner on the creek to lay eyes on this mammoth waterfall, truely is a special sight.

As we do here at off track adventuring we take things a little further than most and hiked up to the hanging pool half way up the epic water fall that is Spring Creek falls (Black Rock falls).
Scetchy is the only way to decribe the accent to the pool from the bottom of the falls but it is definitly worth the risk!
Do not try to attempt this part of the hike if there is any possibility for rain as you will fall to your death. We had a fine day so climbed the beast!
