Hoima City Lord Mayor Brian Kaboyo Adyeeri has attributed his failure to secure a second term (2026–2031) to internal fights within the NRM party in Hoima City.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, 28th January 2026 at HB Hotel, Hoima, Kaboyo claimed that internal party actors collaborated with the opposition’s Hon. Nyakato Asinansi (PFF) to decampaign him. He dismissed allegations that he delayed the announcement of Hon. Nyakato Asinansi, saying the claims were false and deliberately used to weaken him politically.
Kaboyo said the accusations were meant to turn the party and voters against him, insisting that people in Hoima City understand the political forces that worked behind the scenes to hit him.
Despite the outcome, Kaboyo stressed that he will not take the matter to court, choosing instead to handle the issue within NRM structures.
“As NRM, we shall solve these issues internally,” he said.
As his term officially comes to an end in May, Kaboyo reflected on his leadership—highlighting key achievements, projects implemented, and others he successfully lobbied for during his time as Lord Mayor. He reaffirmed his commitment to the city, noting that he remains around and active as the NRM flag bearer, continuing to serve the party and the people of Hoima City.
A political loss marked by pain, reflection, and resolve — but Kaboyo says his work for Hoima City continues.
