The next installment of our wee little lockdown group's series of monologue challenges: an excerpt from any of the fine, menacing works of Harold Pinter. I chose this piece from one of his early Kafkaesque plays, 'The Hothouse'. While I think Pinter generally has more impact when combining the energies and charisma of actors in the same space compared to a monologue format, this was a fun exercise; chiefly because you can reveal something about your own work and unique energy if you allow yourself to be an open conduit for his precise, rhythmic writing.
