Hello Rich and Tube Amp Enthusiasts- I was underwhelmed with internet reviews of this curious SOLID STATE amp, so I bought one to find out for myself. This comes from the perspective of a farmer, 30 year harp player, and someone leaning guitar. I never would have considered a solid state amp 20 years ago. But how things have changed....
Summary of Benefits:
Great warm tube sound with classic effects- sounds like the original to me
Authentic reverb effect
Vibrato- it's there if you need it, I won't mess with that until I revisit Slim Harpo
Much LIGHTER than its tube counterpart!
Has the ability to adjust wattage based on room/venue size (not mentioned)
Solid State amps are safer than my old tube amps which I accidently leave on from time to time
For open mics and small gigs- you can plug in guitar, harp and vocal into one amp (multiple volume options)
Although it should be obvious, there is no sponsorship here or paid content lol! I bought it used for about $840 at a local guitar shop. New, they run in the $1600 range
Two thumbs up from this old farmer......
Gear Corner:
