Performance could be powered by Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip built on a cutting-edge 2nm process, paired with ultra-fast LPDDR6 RAM. The display is also expected to be incredible, with rumors pointing to a 6.78-inch or 6.82-inch LTPO OLED panel running at 165Hz, 185Hz, or even 240Hz, along with ultra-thin 0.9mm bezels.
Camera upgrades may include a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope zoom camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and OnePlus' new DetailMax imaging engine replacing Hasselblad branding.
But the biggest question isn't the specs—it's global availability. While the OnePlus 16 is expected to launch in China around October or November 2026, rumors suggest OnePlus could be reducing its presence in some Western markets, including the US, UK, and parts of Europe. OnePlus has denied rumors of a complete exit, but the company's long-term global strategy remains unclear.
