Lets take a look at Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance. Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) is designed to compensate employees for the loss of a body part or to compensate the employee’s family if an employee suffers the loss of a limb or dies accidentally at work.
AD&D insurance pays you or your beneficiaries a set amount of money if your death or dismemberment is the direct result of an accident. However, there are coverage restrictions that make accidental death and dismemberment insurance far less useful.
The insurance usually specifies how much will be paid for the loss of each body part or for an accidental death, and it is likely to be more valued by workers in manufacturing and skilled-trade jobs than by white-collar workers.
