Grammy winner Steve Tyrell comes to us from his backyard in Los Angeles, California. He and his band will perform “Bella Notte” by Peggy Lee and “Stand By Me,” from Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, and Ben E. King, an appropriate anthem with a message of togetherness for these troubling times.
Steve Tyrell has long been an Artist in Residence at Monteverdi, performing jazz classics and songs from The Great American Songbook in our 14th century Sant’ Andrea church since 2014.
Though he was born and raised in Texas, Steve is 100% Italian. His family hails from Sicily and Calabria. He has produced hit songs with Burt Bacharach, Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, Ray Charles, and many others. His appearance in the movie Father of the Bride led to a successful recording career with 12-albums... and counting.
