Описание: Françoise Gadet is a Professor at Paris Nanterre university; her studies focus on sociolinguistics, the language of young people in France and french-speaking territories. In her talk "What young people do to the language (French language)”; Professor Gadet will take us on a quest to discover how young people create changes to the French language. Are young people really triggering an evolution to the current language? She’ll explore the different types of changes that young people make to the language: bringing old words back, the use of anglicisms and other foreign words, the way they modify the grammatic structure, among others. She’ll explain how young people (and not so young) can create a positive impact using the language that is always in evolution.
