Two stuntmen died during the shooting of a Kannada film Mastigudi at Thippagondanahalli lake, 40 km from Bengaluru on Monday.

Duniya Vijay and two other stunt men were told to jump into Thippagondanahalli lake even though the director was aware that they do not know swimming.

The men too, in spite of not knowing how to swim, agreed to do the stunt. As part of the shooting, the two men were to jump 100 feet from a helicopter.

After Anil and Uday jumped from the helicopter Vijay too jumped. Though Vijay managed to swim and save his life, Anil and Uday were drowned.

The director and the producer should be tried for murder. There were no life jackets, harnesses, boats, ambulances or rescue setup in place.
